Québec City, October 5, 2015 – Dozens of businesses, executives, municipalities, and chambers of commerce have expressed their approval and support for the installation of a U.S. Customs pre-clearance facility at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB). From Beauce to Victoriaville to Rivière-du-Loup, socio-economic players in the greater Québec City area and many others have rallied to make Québec City the next Canadian city to have a pre-clearance facility.

Québec City, September 10, 2015 – In a move to ensure passenger comfort during construction underway at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) until 2018, Aéroport de Québec inc. (AQi) has installed an access corridor leading to gates 33 through 35.

Fully air conditioned, heated, and computerized, the 165 m modular corridor provides safer, more comfortable access to YQB’s international terminal for all inbound and outbound passengers.

95% of Québec City residents support a U.S. Customs preclearance facility at YQB

Québec City, May 28, 2015 – To make sure the population of Québec City was supportive before installing a U.S. Customs preclearance facility at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport, Aéroport de Québec inc. (AQi) hired SOM, a survey firm, to measure the degree of local support for the project. The online survey, conducted May 13 to 21, 2015, makes it clear that Québec City residents are overwhelmingly in favor of the preclearance facility: nearly all respondents (95%) had either a highly favorable (62%) or a somewhat favorable (33%) opinion of the project.

More summer flights at YQB – Better access to Europe and sunshine destinations

Québec City, April 2, 2015 – Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) has expanded its selection of summer flights with many new destinations in summer 2015.

More flights to sunshine destinations
The number of direct flights to sunshine destinations will increase by 25% and reach a new high. Carriers Air Transat and Sunwing will operate up to eight direct flights to Mexico and the Caribbean per week, with five destinations—Cancun, Cayo Coco, Cayo Santa Maria, Punta Cana, and Varadero—available 52 weeks a year.

Québec City, February 25, 2015 – Starting March 15, travelers will have access to more WestJet flights to and from Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport. The airline’s regional subsidiary, WestJet Encore, will ramp up WestJet’s service by operating two daily flights to Toronto Pearson International Airport, WestJet’s hub in Eastern Canada.
