Construction works
The rebuilding work on Threshold 29 and the renovation of Taxiways Golf and Hotel will take place from May to October 2023 and will continue from June to October 2024. This is a major project, the largest to be deployed airside since the 2016 and 2017 runway rehabilitation.
The project includes civil and electrical engineering, excavation, drainage, roadway construction and replacement of the buoyage system and navigational aids. This work is made possible thanks to funding received from Transport Canada under the Airports Critical Infrastructure Program.
The project has been carefully planned and divided into phases so that airport operations can continue during construction. Impacts on operations have been minimized as much as possible. As construction materials and equipment will be transported between 8th Avenue de l’Aéroport and Route Jean-Gauvin on Chemin du trait-carré de la plaine, it will be closed for the period of the work.
