TORONTO / February 22, 2024 - Porter Airlines is launching daily, round-trip service between Toronto-Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) starting May 17. Initially planned as a seasonal addition to Porter’s schedule, the new route is set to run until October 26.

First Flight from Korea Lands in Québec City
Québec City, September 27, 2023 – Today, Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) and Destination Québec cité (DQc) welcomed the first Korean tourists visiting Québec City as part of a new partnership with Korean tour operator Hanjin Travel Co., Ltd., which was announced last May. Four direct flights from Seoul’s Incheon International Airport will be landing at YQB in the coming weeks. As a result, the greater Québec City area will benefit from hosting almost a thousand additional Korean tourists this autumn.

Roadwork Notice – Route de l’Aéroport Closure

Night work will be carried out by Transports Québec on route de l'Aéroport in the coming weeks. Detours will be in place to access the airport site between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. from Sunday, July 9, 2023. Traffic on route de l'Aéroport will possibly alternate during the day. Launch of two ultra-low-cost Flair Airline routes between Québec City and Halifax and Edmonton
QUÉBEC CITY, Quebec (June 8, 2023) – Today, Flair Airlines, Canada’s everyday low-fare airline, announced the launch of its new two-way routes that connect, in both directions, Québec City with Halifax, starting today, and Québec City with Edmonton starting on July 7, with fares starting at $49.  ·       The route to Halifax started operating today, June 8, when it connected Québec City to the Maritimes. It includes three weekly flights (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Friday) with one-way tickets starting at $49 taxes and fees included. ·       Service to Edmonton will be available starting July 7, 2023, twice a week (Mondays and Fridays) with one-way tickets starting at $59, taxes and fees included.

Lifting of COVID‑19 measures at the border and for travel

As of October 1, 2022, travellers will no longer be required to wear a mask during their flight and at the airport, or provide information through ArriveCAN. In addition, border requirements, including vaccination, testing, quarantine and isolation, will be waived for all travellers entering Canada.

Update on mandatory mask-wearing at YQB

June 23, 2022 - Wearing a mask is no longer mandatory in the public interior spaces of the terminal.

However, Transport Canada maintains the mask requirement for all regulatory processes, which includes:

  • Security checkpoints for passengers and non-passengers (CNP and CNPV);
  • Boarding;
  • The flight;
  • The customs area.

Wearing a mask remains an effective measure to limit the spread of COVID-19. It is therefore everyone's responsibility to choose whether or not to wear it.

Air Canada Announces Two New Connections to Western Canada From Quebec City Starting Next Summer

Québec City, Oct. 21, 2021 - Air Canada is pleased to announce today two new seasonal services departing from Jean Lesage International Airport in Quebec City: Vancouver and Calgary. Flights to Vancouver will start on May 20, 2022, with up to three flights a week and service to Calgary will debut on May 21, 2022, offering up to four weekly flights. These new routes will be operated by Air Canada Rouge on an Airbus A319, featuring Premium Rouge and Economy services, product enhancements including upgraded streaming entertainment and options to purchase high-speed wi-fi.

New entry requirements to Canada

January 6, 2021 - New pre-departure COVID-19 testing requirements come into effect for all air travellers flying into Canada

Effective midnight on January 7, 2021 (00:00 EST or 05:00 UCT), the Government of Canada requires all travellers five years of age or older, regardless of citizenship, provide proof of a negative laboratory test result for COVID-19 to the airline prior to boarding a flight to Canada.

Large-scale emergency exercise at YQB

Québec City, October 30, 2019 - Dozens of emergency responders and more than 100 extras gathered at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) today to participate in a large-scale emergency simulation of an active shooter situation in the terminal building. This exercise allowed YQB and its partners to test their emergency procedures and learn from the interaction between the security partners involved in the exercise. As part of its obligations to Transport Canada, YQB has a duty to test its Emergency Measures Plan (EMP) on a regular basis.

WestJet to offer direct route Québec City - Calgary between June and October 2018

Québec, April 10, 2018 – WestJet Airlines has confirmed that it will be offering a new direct route between Québec City Jean-Lesage International Airport (YQB) and Calgary International Airport (YYC) from June 29 to October 26, 2018.

WestJet will fly direct four times a week to Calgary International Airport (YYC) from June 29 to September 8, and three flights a week thereafter until October 26, 2018.

Air Canada Rouge to provide service between Québec City and Toronto starting July 1, 2018

Québec City, February 15, 2018 – Air Canada has confirmed that its subsidiary Rouge will take over service between Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). The current fleet of 74-seat Bombardier Q-400s will be replaced by 136-seat Airbus 319 and 200-seat Airbus 321 jets. Rouge will operate five daily flights to Toronto Pearson International Airport.

The main runway is fully operational once again

Québec City, June 18, 2016. – Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) has had to carry out runway repairs to ensure the safety of all passengers. The runway intersection repairs were completed during the night of Friday to Saturday, and the main runway became fully operational on Saturday, June 18, 2016, a day before the original deadline. The airport remained open and operational for airlines and passengers throughout the repairs.

Runway repairs – Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport remains open and operational during repairs

Québec, March 4, 2016 – To ensure the safety of all passengers, Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) will carry out runway repairs from June 6 to 18, 2016.

The airport will remain open and operational for airlines and passengers during the repairs.

Larger aircraft, however, will not be able to operate during this period since runway lengths will be restricted. In some cases, airlines may use a different type of aircraft.

Québec City, May 28, 2015 – To make sure the population of Québec City was supportive before installing a U.S. Customs preclearance facility at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport, Aéroport de Québec inc. (AQi) hired SOM, a survey firm, to measure the degree of local support for the project. The online survey, conducted May 13 to 21, 2015, makes it clear that Québec City residents are overwhelmingly in favor of the preclearance facility: nearly all respondents (95%) had either a highly favorable (62%) or a somewhat favorable (33%) opinion of the project.

The number of direct flights to sunshine destinations will increase by 25% and reach a new high. February 20th, 2012 – For a second year in a row, the Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) has been voted Best Airport in North America in the 0-2 million passenger category according to Airport Service Quality (ASQ), a world-wide survey lead by Airports Council International (ACI) which measures airport client satisfaction.

January 24, 2012 – Mr. Gaëtan Gagné, President and CEO of the Québec City Airport is proud to announce that 2011 will have been a record-breaking year for the Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB), with a 10.4% increase in passenger traffic, bringing the total number of passenger to 1,313,432.

Transat A.T. Inc. postpones its flights to Mexico until June 1 and brings back its customers and employees

Montreal, April 28, 2009 – As a result of the World Health Organization’s decision to raise the level of the swine flu alert to Phase 4, and following directives issued by governments because of the appearance of swine flu in several countries, Transat A.T. Inc. is postponing its flights from Canada to Mexico until June 1 inclusive, and from France to Mexico until May 31 inclusive. This decision applies to flights operated by Air Transat or other carriers.

United adds a second flight from Quebec city to Chicago

Québec City, Thursday, March 12, 2009 – United Airlines announced today that a second daily flight will be added between the Old City and the Windy City as a result of the very positive response to the current daily flight to Chicago.

The additional flight will operate from June 4 to October 25 using a 50-seat CRJ. Flights to Chicago will depart Quebec City at 8:15 a.m. and 4:56 p.m. and flights back to Quebec City will depart Chicago O’Hare at 12:58 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.

Delta Air Lines Re-brands Northwest’s Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport Facilities

Quebec – February 17th – Delta Air Lines’ (NYSE: DAL) name and logo will become part of Quebec City Jean Lesage International Airport beginning Feb. 17 as the airline integrates its operations with Northwest following their merger in October of last year.

Quebec City is among the more than 200 airports worldwide – six of them in Cananda- where Delta is brandind counters, gates, kiosks and signage following the merger that made the airline the world’s largest.

New Quebec City-Cleveland Service Route- Aéroport de Québec STRENGTHENS ITS “PASSENGER Orientation” PHILOSOPHY

Quebec City, June 11, 2007 – Following yesterday’s inaugural flight, Aéroport de Québec is launching a new service route to Cleveland from Aéroport international Jean-Lesage (AIJL). Every Sunday morning from June 10 to November 4, 2007, Continental Airlines will operate a weekly flight from Quebec City to Cleveland on a 50-seat Embraer 145, thus providing easy access to popular destinations such as Los Angeles and Las Vegas . This new route will further increase traffic at AIJL which reached record-high traffic in 2006 with nearly 780,000 passengers.

CONTINENTAL AIRLINES STARTS NEW FLIGHTS TO QUEBEC FROM CLEVELAND

CLEVELAND, April 4, 2007—Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL), today announced the first ever nonstop scheduled service between the airline’s Cleveland hub (CLE) and Quebec’s Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB). The flights will enhance Continental’s existing service to Quebec from its New York hub at Newark.

The seasonal weekly Cleveland to Quebec service begins on June 9, 2007 and ends on Oct. 28, 2007. The schedule is as follows:
