Québec City, March 23, 2018 – On March 20, Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) featured in the Mid-Sized Employers category of the second annual Employee Recommended Workplace Awards, presented by Morneau Shepell and The Globe and Mail. The Employee Recommended Workplace Awards recognize the excellence of organizations that promote the commitment, productivity and health of their workers. This unique award is based solely on the comments made by employees in a survey to measure the four pillars of health: physical health, mental health, work life and personal life.
"It is truly an honour to be recognized as one of the national winners of the Employee Recommended Workplace Awards 2018, and to be one of the country's best employers," says Gaëtan Gagné, president and CEO of Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport. "The health and commitment of our employees is a priority for YQB and we can see, every day, the positive impact this has on the quality of the experience we offer our passengers," adds Gaëtan Gagné.
YQB has taken various steps in recent years to achieve high standards as a healthy workplace and to be a model employer. Its main initiatives include a peer recognition program that promotes spontaneous, non-monetary recognition, Health, Safety and Environment Week, which includes sports events and talks for employees, weekly Cardio Express sessions, and use of the OfficeVibe platform to survey employees' satisfaction with their workplace on a weekly basis.
In addition, the results of the Employee Recommended Workplace Awards survey completed by its employees gave YQB an opportunity to focus on workplace conditions as it continues to improve the overall health of its employees.
