Frequently asked questions

If your companion has parked in one of the two parking areas and intends to meet you inside the terminal, you can wait for them in the terminal. Tell them to visit our Parking page for more information on the parking areas and their rates.  

Your companion can also use the free CellPARQ waiting area to wait for you and meet you in front of the terminal once you’re ready. You can wait in front of a column in front of the terminal and tell them the column number.

Please note that the parking spaces in front of the terminal are exclusively for immediate passenger drop-off and pick-up. Waiting is not permitted. For security reasons, vehicles cannot be parked or left unattended. Unauthorized parking in front of the terminal may result in a ticket and a $103 fine.  

Upon arriving at the airport, take Principale Street and follow the signs to the Departures area of the terminal. You can wait in a space marked “Drop-off” to drop off your passenger.

If you are picking up a passenger at the airport, you have two options: 

OPTION 1: Use the CellPARQ lot while waiting for the passenger 

This waiting area is free to use and allows you to remain comfortably in your vehicle while you wait. Please note that there is a 60-minute time limit for this lot. This helps keep traffic running smoothly in front of the terminal. 

Once your companion phones or texts you to let you know they’re ready, you can meet them in front of the terminal by turning right on Principale Street and following the signs for Arrivals. You can wait in a space marked “Pick-up” to pick up your passenger. The columns in front of the terminal are also numbered for your convenience.

OPTION 2: Use the parking areas and meet the passenger in the terminal 

The Québec City airport has two parking areas close to the terminal: a parking garage and an outdoor lot. You can park in either one, then meet your passenger in person in the terminal.

Yes, you are welcome to enter the terminal. 

Yes, you can watch planes taking off and landing from inside the terminal. The layout gives passengers in the secure area a great view of the runways.  

If you are not flying and just want to watch the planes, you can see part of the secure area and have a partial view of the runways on level 2 of the terminal, near the footbridge. 

There are also several outdoor areas where you can safely enjoy watching the planes. Discover the best places listed by YQB Aviation on this interactive map (available in French only). 

This free waiting area for drivers is located at the intersection of 6th rue de l’Aéroport and Rue Principale. The entrance to the Waiting Area is on 6th rue de l'Aéroport (see on map).
