The Canada Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) grants you access to the restricted areas of many Canadian airports through designated access points, which are determined by individual airport authorities.
The Canada RAIC is valid for five (5) years but will not exceed the validity date of the transport security clearance.
Any Canada RAIC holder who needs access to a restricted area must apply to the airport’s Pass Control Office.

- Have the form signed by an authorized signatory.
- You must list the Category 1 and 2 airports where you will be working.
- Carefully read the conditions at the bottom of the form. It is important to know that all security features issued are governed by the Canadian Aviation Security Regulations (CASR).
Make an appointment
Using the appointment scheduler, make an appointment for “Biométrie: Émission d’une CIZR” [Biometrics: Issue of a RAIC] and choose a convenient time. A confirmation email will be sent to you with instructions and a reminder the day before the appointment.
If you are a holder of a Canada RAIC or a RAIC issued by another Canadian airport and your work requires you to access restricted areas through designated access points, your company manager must email a request to [email protected].
The request must contain the following:
- Duration of access (dates and times)
- Legible two-sided copy of your RAIC (information must be clear, otherwise the card will not be activated)
