YQB TAXI Permit

To pick up and drop off their customers at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB), taxi drivers must hold a YQB TAXI Permit and pay the associated fees.

How to obtain a license?

  1. Fill out the online form

  2. Collect your access card. You will receive a confirmation email with instructions after your permit is approved.

  3. Create a Process account. This will allow you to manage your account, update your contact details, and view your access. You will receive instructions by email.

  4. Install Fraxion. Using Fraxion software, which manages the automated taxi pool (GABT), is mandatory to access YQB facilities. Contact Fraxion at service@fraxion.com.

  5. Purchase a first book of 10 access passes. This step is necessary to pass through the barrier and enter the customer pickup area.

How does the taxi pool work?

Once at the barrier, swipe your access card at the terminal and follow the on-screen instructions. When the barrier lifts, park your vehicle in one of the seven spaces in the client pick-up zone.

Pickup fees

A fee of $3.75 plus taxes per access to the pickup zone is required. You must purchase a booklet containing 10 accesses at a cost of $37.50 plus taxes at the barrier using a credit or debit card. At the 11th passage through the barrier, you will be able to purchase a new booklet.

An access valued at $3.75 plus taxes is therefore charged each time you access the customer pickup zone. On your Process account, you can view your receipts and transactions and modify your settings as needed.

Use of Fraxion

You must install and open the Fraxion software, which is used for the automated management of the taxi pool (GABT), on your electronic device and use it at all times when you are on the airport site. The GPS location function must also be activated.

Warning, if the GABT application is closed or the signal is lost, you will automatically lose your place in the virtual queue.

Wait to receive the notification to transfer to the customer pick-up zone before proceeding to the barrier. You have 60 seconds to accept it after receipt.

General Conditions

As a holder of a TAXIS YQB Permit, you agree to comply with the conditions, operating terms, and sanctions applicable to drivers holding a TAXIS YQB Permit at the Québec Jean-Lesage International Airport site for customer pickup from the terminal.

The general conditions aim to ensure efficient, safe service delivery in compliance with current regulations. Any violation of these conditions may result in sanctions ranging from a warning to permit revocation.

Why this process?

Ensuring the durability, quality, and fairness of our services

YQB has been investing for several years in infrastructure and services to facilitate the management of customers by taxis on the airport site. Thus, we have followed the example of other Canadian airports by adding a fee of $3.75 plus taxes to continue funding the maintenance of the taxi pool facilities, the trailer, and the pickup zone, the update of the GABT software (automated taxi pool management), and the salaries of the staff who assist customers.

Furthermore, access control to the pickup zone through permits, the barrier, and the access card guarantees the quality of services. Only qualified individuals holding an official YQB TAXI Permit can access the facilities and offer their service.

Ground transportation providers such as shuttles, limousines, and services like Uber already pay fees to operate at the airport. By charging these fees to taxis, YQB treats all ground transportation providers who benefit from the airport’s infrastructure fairly.
