Airside Vehicle Operator Permit (AVOP)
AVOP stands for "Airside Vehicle Operator Permit", which is a permit to drive airside, issued by Aéroport de Québec inc. Only those with an operational need to drive airside can obtain it.
Three types of permits
Airside Vehicle Operations Permits (AVOP).
Type "D"
Refers to the airside driving permit that authorizes the holder to operate a vehicle on the movement areas. Drivers must have a Restricted Operator Certificate with Aeronautical Qualification (ROC-A).
Type "D4"
Refers to the airside driving permit authorizing the holder to drive a vehicle on the movement areas and on Delta taxiway. Drivers must have a Restricted Operator Certificate with Aeronautical Qualification (ROC-A).
Type "DA"
Refers to the airside driving permit authorizing the holder to operate a vehicle on the aprons.
Prerequisites for obtaining an AVOP
Be the holder of a valid driver's license issued by a Canadian province, a U.S. state, or an international type;
Have completed and passed the online training of the Canadian Airport Security Awareness Program (CASAP) ;
Be the holder of an identity card (RAIC) for the regulated area of YQB;
"D" and "D4" licenses: hold a valid Restricted Operator Certificate with Aeronautical Qualification (ROC-A) certificate.
