American Airlines launches new seasonal service between Québec City and New York

Quebec, on August 5, 2026

  • The new route connects Québec City with American’s global network through New York-JFK.

  • American is celebrating 85 years of service in Canada this year.

American Airlines is expanding its footprint in Canada with the launch of new seasonal service between Quebec City International Airport (YQB) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York, the only U.S. airline to offer this service from JFK.

From Aug. 5 to Oct. 31, American will operate daily service using Embraer 175 aircraft with capacity for 76 customers. The new route complements the airline’s existing service between Quebec City and several of American’s hubs, including Philadelphia (PHL), Chicago (ORD), Charlotte (CLT), and Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) — providing customers with even more options to connect between Quebec and the airline’s global network.

“We are proud to continue growing our presence in Canada during a milestone year for American and American’s Canadian service,” said Paola Torri, Director of Operations for Canada and Mexico at American Airlines. “This new service provides customers in Québec City with convenient access to New York and beyond through our JFK hub, including connections across the United States and to key European destinations. At the same time, it makes it easier for visitors to experience the rich history, culture and charm that make Quebec City one of Canada’s most unique destinations.”

“It is with great enthusiasm that we are celebrating today the launch of this new route between YQB and JFK, which further enhances American Airlines’ already well-established presence in Québec City,” noted Stéphane Poirier, President and CEO of YQB. “Year after year, American Airlines continues to expand its services at YQB, to the benefit of our region and all of Québec. By offering a direct link to one of the United States’ major hubs, this new route helps to strengthen Québec City’s connectivity and facilitate business and leisure travel for locals, whilst meeting the sustained interest of American travellers in our destination, particularly in the autumn, when the region stands out for its colours and unique character.”

American’s JFK hub offers customers access to more than 600 weekly flights to more than 40 destinations around the world, including international gateways such as Edinburgh (EDI), Buenos Aires (EZE), São Paulo (GRU) and New Delhi (DEL), alongside connections to major U.S. hubs, including Miami (MIA), Los Angeles (LAX) and DFW.
