Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport plays an active role in maintaining airport security and ensuring public protection alongside its partners. Their common objective is to ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe environment that is respectful of all laws and regulations.
To this end, the organization is involved in several working committees where information is exchanged and new guidelines and procedures are developed.
Safety
The first responder in case of emergency or disaster at the airport is the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Service, which is made up of four teams of experienced firefighters (ARFF: 8). Airport firefighters also provide first aid to airport users, play a key role in bird control, and implement awareness and fire prevention programs.
Security
Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport has commissioned the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires to protect the site and the public. Agents patrol the terminal and the airport grounds at all times. They are the first responders in any type of incident. If necessary, they call the Québec City Police Department for assistance.
